Villa Prikonas is just 100 metres from the sea front, set on a small hillside in the pretty village of Assos overlooking the Bay with stunning panoramic views of Assos’s Venetian fortress and the Ionian Sea.
Villa Prikonas is located on the crest of a small hillside overlooking the Venetian style village and harbour of Assos, less than 100 metres from the sea with superb views over the picturesque Bay of Assos and its imposing 16th century Venetian castle. In fact there is a strong Venetian presence throughout the village with pretty pastel coloured houses overlooking the yachts and local fishing boats moored in the horse shoe shaped harbour. In the evenings the village lights illuminate the harbour, creating a magical ambiance throughout the village so why not enjoy a romantic meal at one of the waterside tavernas or cafes and watch the sun set over the Ionian Sea. During the day Assos has much to offer with bird watching, rambling lots of walks including spending half a day exploring the Assos’s 16th century Venetian castle whose remains form one of the most famous landmarks on Kefalonia. For the sun lovers simply laze by your swimming pool or hire a boat from the harbour in Assos and visit any one of the many unspoilt coves in the vicinity. Don’t forget to take your snorkel as there are lots of rocky outcrops and numerous waterside caves to explore in the crystal clear water around Assos, if you are lucky you may even glimpse a dolphin or monk seal.
Villa Prikonas is ideally located to explore the entire island by day. The most famous beach on Kefalonia, Myrtos with its turquoise water and fine golden sand, is only a ten minute drive from Assos. Heading north from Assos are the picturesque pebble coves of the Erisso peninsula and the famous bustling harbour village of Fiscardo, which is only twenty kilometres drive away. There are many more attractions within an hour’s drive from Assos, the hardest choice you will have is not choosing where to visit, but actually leaving the picturesque setting of Villa Prikonas.
At the front of the villa is a large terrace with a built in barbecue and a set of table and chairs for al fresco dining where in the evenings you can enjoy the stunning views over the Bay of Assos with the Venetian Fortress in the back ground. The front door to Prikonas leads onto a fully equipped kitchen complete with a full oven, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Next to the kitchen is the bathroom with shower and wc and a set of three steps which lead up into a spacious open plan lounge and dining area with high wooden vaulted ceilings. A further set of steps lead from the lounge onto a wooden gallery which forms the master double bedroom and overlooks the living area. A set of french doors open out from the lounge onto a spectacular private infinity pool with its own built in jacuzzi and amazing panoramic sea views. At the bottom of the garden steep steps lead down 100metres to the seafront, to a small rock swimming platform, here you can swim to a platform beach which is only 200 metres away, which normally can only be reached by boat.
