The location of Villa Eleni is just perfect, nestling on a small hillside overlooking the picturesque Bay of Assos, with breathtaking views of both the Venetian Fortress opposite and the crystal clear water of the Ionian Sea.
Villa Eleni is set on a small hillside on the outskirts of the pretty fishing village of Assos. Located just 80 metres from the sea and only a short stroll from the peaceful village of Assos where Venetian style homes overlook the crystal clear waters of the harbour. In the evenings the harbour lights create a magical setting for you to enjoy a nice romantic meal at one of the waterside tavernas that overlook the yachts moored in the harbour. Across the bay, towering above the village is the magnificent Venetian Fortress of Assos, whose ruins and walls stretch for over two kilometres and are worth spending half a day exploring. The water around the pebble beach in the harbour is crystal clear with excellent snorkelling exploring the many caves and rocky outcrops.
Villa Eleni is ideally located to explore the entire island by day with most of Kefalonia’s tourist attractions within an hour’s drive. The most famous beach on Kefalonia, Myrtos with its turquoise water and fine golden sand, is only a ten minute drive from Assos. Heading north from Assos are the picturesque pebble coves of the Erisso peninsula with the famous bustling harbour village of Fiscardo, only twenty kilometres drive away. In Fiscardo you can hire motor boats or yachts for one or more days, to explore the coastline of Kefalonia or visit the beautiful islands of Ithica or Lefkada. The hardest choice you will have is not choosing where to visit, but whether or not you can drag yourself away from picturesque sleepy village of Assos.
Villa Eleni is a three bedroom villa arranged over three levels, with the entrance being on the first floor, which leads into an impressive kitchen/dining area with a magnificent wooden beamed ceiling. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, full oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and has french doors that open out onto terrace overlooking the sea. The dining area leads into a spacious lounge with a high wooden beamed ceiling and double doors that open out onto a large terraced garden with a shaded pergola and barbecue, where in the evenings you can dine al fresco whilst enjoying the stunning views, and later on watching the sunset over the Ionian Sea. A set of wooden stairs lead up from the dining room to the galleried master bedroom, set in the attic which overlooks the lounge. The master bedroom has a high wooden vaulted ceiling and an en suite bathroom complete with bath, shower and wc. Wooden stairs lead down from the kitchen to the ground floor sleeping area consisting of a twin and a double bedroom sharing a family shower room with wc. Both ground floor bedrooms also have double doors that open out onto a large sun bathing terrace with an unusual shaped infinity swimming pool. At the end of the garden steep steps lead down 100metres to the seafront, to a small rock swimming platform, here you can swim to a platform beach which is only 200 metres away, which normally can only be reached by boat.
