Villa Nikolis is set in an idyllic peaceful location on a hillside overlooking the Bay of Assos, with amazing panoramic sea views, close to two beaches and a short walk from the waterside bars, cafes and tavernas in the harbour of Assos.
Villa Nikolis is located on a small hillside on the outskirts of the pretty fishing village of Assos. Nikolis’s peaceful location is simply idyllic, less than 80 metres from the sea and only a five minutes stroll into the sleepy harbour of Assos with its waterside tavernas, cafes and pebble beaches. Across the bay from Nikolis is the magnificent Venetian Fortress of Assos, whose ruins and walls stretch for over two kilometres and are worth spending half a day exploring. The water around the harbour is crystal clear and the snorkelling is excellent with lots of caves and rocky outcrops to explore. Guests staying at Villa Nikolis even have the benefit of their own private beach which can be accessed either by boat or by swimming 200 metres from a small rock platform directly below the villa.
Assos is ideally located if you wish to spend your time exploring the island as most of Kefalonia’s tourist attractions are all within an hour’s drive of Villa Nikolis. The most famous beach on Kefalonia, Myrtos with its turquoise water and fine golden sand, is only a ten minute drive from Assos. Heading north from Assos are the picturesque pebble coves of the Erisso peninsula, with the famous bustling harbour village of Fiscardo, only twenty kilometres drive away. In Fiscardo you can hire motor boats or yachts for one or more days in order to explore the coastline of Kefalonia or for the more adventurous visit the beautiful islands of Ithica or Lefkada. The hardest choice you will have is not choosing where to visit, but whether or not you can drag yourself away from the picturesque sleepy village of Assos.
Villa Nikolis is a three bedroom villa arranged on four levels, the entrance is on the ground floor which opens into a modern fully equipped kitchen with a shower room with wc on the same level. A small set of stairs lead down into the open plan lounge and dining area where large double doors open out onto a magnificent terrace with views over the bay to the Venetian castle opposite. On the left hand side of the terrace is a built in barbecue next to a covered pergola where in the evenings you can dine al fresco whilst enjoying the views as the sunsets over the Ionian Sea. On the right hand side of the terrace is a sunbathing area next to the unusually shaped infinity swimming pool. A set of stairs lead up from the kitchen to the master double bedroom with double doors that open out onto a balcony with superb sea views. A half set of stairs continue upwards onto the next level, to the only twin bedroom and a family shower room with washbasin and wc. The final bedroom, a spacious double, is on the next level in the attic with a high wooden vaulted ceiling and two large windows that have stunning sea views. At the bottom of the garden steep steps lead down 100metres to the seafront, to a small rock swimming platform, here you can swim to a platform beach which is only 200 metres away, which normally can only be reached by boat.
